Those are words quoted in movie man in the Iron Mass, one of my favorite movies. But the scene which these words came out was a scene where for men armed with nothing but their swords, men of honor, the end of a quarter.

The other end of this quarter was twenty something soldiers armed with muskets. These four men said one for all, all for one, and then, with the courage of lot they charged down this long quarter their swords, draw muskets, fire at it. The captain, the interim captain, seeing these four musketeers coming out of said magnificent valor, amazing courage. Fear has no place for the followers of Jesus Christ. Tame and time again God says be courageous, do not fear. Further the New Testament expressly states. God has...

...not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and love, the sound mom our lives should be characterized by magnificent valor. We have nothing to feel. What's the worst thing this world could do to you, Pastor Braddick? It could kill me. All that is is the passage into Lord. It's just a passage way into heaven. The worst thing they could do to me is the best thing that could happen. No wonder we're told not to fear. The God of all, the God of everything that exists, is your protector. He's my protector. Well, we're in Deuteronomy chapters twenty through...

...twenty two today, and in this Moses gives instructions about going to war. He gives instructions about atonement for murderers, that there's no conviction, they can't find who the murderer is, and so there's an atonement made for the murder anyway. There's various laws given and then there's comments and rules instructions regarding marriage violations. But I want to read from Deuteronomy Chapter Twenty, verses one through nine, speaking of going to war, when you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours. Do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you when you are about to go into...

...battle. The priests shall come forward and address the army. He shall say here Israel, today, you're going into battle against your enemies. Do not be afraid or fainthearted, do not panic or be terrified, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory. The officers shall say to the army. Has Anyone built a new house and not yet begun to live in it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else may begin to live it. Has Anyone planned of injury and not begun to enjoy it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle someone else enjoy has anyone become pledged to a woman and not yet married her? Let him go home, or he may die in battle someone else married her. Then, the officer shall add, is any one of frayer or fainthearted?...

Let him go home so that his fellow soldiers will not become disheartened. Also, when the officers have finished speaking to the army, they shall appoint commanders. Over. The text we just read reveals something about fear. It's contagious. This is truly an inspiring text. The children of Israel, upon entering the Promised Land, are told not to fear man, for God is with them and God will fight for them. God will bring them a victory. Talk about faith. When you go into battle and you see the cheriers, the horses, the army larger than Europs, do not be afraid, do...

...not fear, for the Lord, your God is with you. Want to talk about faith? We're walking into battle and there's giants and the armies bigger. We're not going to feel because of God. The Israelites were told that God, a God they could not see, would deliver them against mighty enemies that they could see. There's faith. You walk into battle, you see the army that's coming against you. God has said, don't hear them, I'll be with you. We haven't seen God. We're going to have faith in a god we haven't seen to overcome this is grape army that we have seen. Faith the evidence of things not see. They could see they were...

...outnumbered and yet they were called to believe by faith that God would fight on their side. It's one thing to have faith in a comfortable situation. It's one thing to have faith when you're sitting in a comfortable church. It's another thing to charge the enemy that's larger than you are with a faith that an unseen God will fight on your side. If God didn't show up, they would be defeated. That's faith charging an enemy, and if God doesn't show up, we're done. That's faith. Further they are told if there's anyone...

...who is afraid that they should go home. Fear is contagious. It's like a virus can in fact an entire group, something we should know about viruses from the recent virus in our country. What do you do? You Quarantine. It's what you do with fear. Guarantee you don't let it affect others. Keep it away, get it away from the rest of the group, because fear is contagious. By the way, if you ever have someone in your group that's fearful, as you're obeying God, send them home, get away. Fear is not of God. We're not having this powerful text wholds...

...some important truth as we live for Jesus today. First, like fear, courage is contagious as well. Now, I imagine that the most courageous were those who had seen the hand of God worked before. I imagine as Israel went into battle, the captains have been into battle numerous times before would say, Oh yeah, we've got this, we've seen the hand of God, we've watched him deliver us. That courage inspired courage cross all who went into battle. Their faith in his deliverance was great and it was contagious. Such a still true. Our faith in God is not a blind faith. We...

...have seen him time and time again, perform inexplicable miracles and those of us have seen amazing things. We have incredible faith because we've seen amazing things. Such faith inspires courage and such faith is contagious, inspiring those who are around us even today. Second, while courage is contagious, fear is not from God. Do not fear, do not fear the future, do not fear man and do not allow those who live in fear to infect you. Get away from negative, ungodly influences. Do not fear, cast such fear out...

...and stand courageously before God. Five, God is with you, he is in you. He will bring you victories, he will fight for you. Have Faith in God and have such based on the many times he's already taken care of. Let me ask you you remember a miracle that God did in Your Life? Maybe it was your salvation, maybe it was a deliverance, maybe it was something else. Who Want you to think about the Times, Miraculous Times God protected you and provided for you. Have Faith based on those...

...times. Don't fear God's with he's done it before, he'll do it again. Live in that courage and live in that about reading for Tomorrow Is Deuteronomy, chapters twenty three through twenty five, but I want to close us and prayer, just reminding us that as Christians, we ought to have magnificent valor. Let's close it. Father. We pray that our faith, in our courage, in our bower my inspire others, as we live without fear, that such life can inspire others to live without fear. There's a push against Christians today, with the world trying to conform us to look like, act like, talk like the world, and that pressures coming down on Christians today.

May We have courage and faith to stand without fear and may that boldness inspire others. Lord may encourage others, for greater is he that is in us, he that is in the world. Thank you for the many times you've saved US and protected us. And, like David would say, though Tenzero fall on my right side, I will not fear. May We know, may we have such may we live such Jesus, thank you so much for joining us again today. I'll see you tomorrow.
