Youcan find a RSS feedlink on our website, www dot do berry baptist clarksbridgecom.A few years ago my wife and I took our children to Disney world. We had a passed to all the parts. We saw all the fourparts that we really wanted to experience and we wanted to ride all the ridesin all four parts in three days with four children, two of whom wewere pushing in strawberries. We did it.

Do you know, by the endof each day we were tired, we were irritable, we were grumpy, we were subber. I mean it was just by the time we reachedfive o'clock we were just ready to get out. And it was a goodlesson. A Disney world is to be enjoyed and we had so rushed throughthings to make sure we got to write everything that we didn't get to justenjoy. So good reminder. Sometimes we need to just slow down in lifeand enjoy something that we're taught about our relationship with God. We should justslow down and enjoy it. In the book of Oviticus, Reading For todaywith Leviticus chapter five through seven, and...

I'm going to read from Leviticus seven, verse eleven through thirteen. These are the regulations for the fellowship offering anyonemay present to the Lord. If they offer it as an expression of thankfulness, then along with this thank offering, they are offer thick clothes made withoutyeast or leaven and with olive oil mixed in thinly thin loaves made without leavinand brushed with all and Dick Cloves of the finest flower well needed and withoil mixed in. Alone with their fellowship offering of Thanksgiving, they are topresent an offering with thick cloves of bread...

...made with yeast or Leavin. Ifyou ever noticed that context drives the meaning of words, the word can, what does the word can mean? If you said I can drive the car, the word can mean something in that context, but if you said theCAN is in the car I drive with, a word means something totally different inthat context. Words can have different meanings in different context. Such isthe case of the word leavin in the Old Testament, and especially in thistext. At times, and often, leavin has the connotation of impure, especially in exodus or Leviticus, the connotation...

...of impure or sin, or atypology of sin or something that's impure, a symbol of sin. This appearsto be its connotation in verse twelve, where we see that they're to offerup an offering without leavin. However, that can't be its meaning. Inverse thirteen, that we're to offer up an offering with leavin. Very interestingtexts were in today. In verse thirteen, leaven is to be included. Leavinor used. Is it bad? In fact, as part of God'soriginal creation, these micro organisms were good. However, since in some cases itcame to symbolize sin or impurity,...

God disallowed its use in seeing offuls. And so if you went to offer up a sin offering to God,since leavin in some cases symbolize the ER impurity, you couldn't have any inyour offering. You're offering had to be pure, wholesome, perfect, blameless. It had to be a offering on behalf or four sin, and nosin symbolically could be in it. However, we have a unique offering here, which was also described in chapter three of Leviticus. It's a fellowship offering. Leavin didn't always symbolize the in. Sometimes it symbolize complacency or taking yourtie, resting, maybe even thus when...

...they prepared the pass over meal, there was to be no leven in that it didn't symbolize seein in the pastover meal you just couldn't have any eleven because that symbolized just kind of restingor complacent and you couldn't be. You hat to be ready to go ata moment's notice. So sometimes it symbolize the in other times that symbolize complacencyor rest something of that nature. Here is a fellowship offering. This isthe only offering where an individual usual could partake of it with God. Allthe other offerings that the Israelites would bring in the sacrificial system, the wholebird offering, all to God, some...

...of the seein offering, some ofthe guilt offerings, some of that would be to God, but the highpriest could have some of it and the preachingly family could have some of it, but the offerer could have none. This was the only offering which theoffer could protect some of it, some of it went to God, andsome of it the offerer could pertain. No wonder. I like calling itthe fellowship offering. It was an offering of fellowship between the individual and God. And so here we have this offering, and in one part of this offeringthere was to be no leaving this offering. That was to be givento God. No leaven was to be in that. That that was God's, no sin, blameless, perfect given to God. However, in thevery next births leavin was to be in.

Thus this fellowship was to be pure, verse to wealth, and yet relaxing, verse thirteen. That's theway our fellowship with God should be. What a beautiful picture. We aremade right with God and thus have a relationship of purity now with God anda fellowship that we should enjoy. We should just relax and enjoy that relationshipwith God. You couldn't have this fellowship offering before the burnt offering. Youhad to have the burn offering first. You had to get the sin outof your life first, and then that...

...burnt offering, which would bring aboutthat relationship with God. You could then offer up a thank offering to Godfor that, Lord. Thank you. But then you could offer up thisfellowship offering where the person could fellowship with God, offering part of it toGod, pure holy and offering part of it to themselves, where they wouldjust relax and enjoy the very presence of God. What a beautiful, beautifulpicture. Levin was allowed in this offering to convey to Israel that by theshed blood of the innocent they have been brought into a relationship with God.So now they could be in a relaxed state enjoying fellowship with him. CanI encourage you this week take some time...

...to stop, get your Bible outand put your watch away, get your Bible in, your prayer journal outand turn the clock off and rest, relax, enjoy God, just enjoyhim at some point this week, maybe this evening. Can I encourage itjust to have a date with God, just to take some time and takeyour Bible, Take Your Prayer Journal, get rid of the launch, stopthe hustle and bustle of life, just relax with your Creator, just enjoyinghim. That's why died. He died to have that relationship with you.Won't you enjoy this week well, I...

...hope you will. Our Reading Fortomorrow is going to be Leviticus, chapter eight through ten, so we're makingour way through Leviticus. I sure hope you're enjoying this study as we learnmore about God through these books in the Old Testament. I want to praywith you before we close today. Father, thank you for this amazing passage.Very interesting where in one verse you command us not to have leavin inthis offering, but in the very next verse there is Leaven, a reminderthat our lives sort to be pure and holy, unto you, and yetwhere to relax and enjoy. May We do so this very it's for Yourglory and honor. Would break Jesus name. Amen. Thank you for joining ustoday.
