A few years ago my wife and I took our children to Disney world. We had a passed to all the parts. We saw all the four parts that we really wanted to experience and we wanted to ride all the rides in all four parts in three days with four children, two of whom we were pushing in strawberries. We did it.

Do you know, by the end of each day we were tired, we were irritable, we were grumpy, we were subber. I mean it was just by the time we reached five o'clock we were just ready to get out. And it was a good lesson. A Disney world is to be enjoyed and we had so rushed through things to make sure we got to write everything that we didn't get to just enjoy. So good reminder. Sometimes we need to just slow down in life and enjoy something that we're taught about our relationship with God. We should just slow down and enjoy it. In the book of Oviticus, Reading For today with Leviticus chapter five through seven, and...

I'm going to read from Leviticus seven, verse eleven through thirteen. These are the regulations for the fellowship offering anyone may present to the Lord. If they offer it as an expression of thankfulness, then along with this thank offering, they are offer thick clothes made without yeast or leaven and with olive oil mixed in thinly thin loaves made without leavin and brushed with all and Dick Cloves of the finest flower well needed and with oil mixed in. Alone with their fellowship offering of Thanksgiving, they are to present an offering with thick cloves of bread...

...made with yeast or Leavin. If you ever noticed that context drives the meaning of words, the word can, what does the word can mean? If you said I can drive the car, the word can mean something in that context, but if you said the CAN is in the car I drive with, a word means something totally different in that context. Words can have different meanings in different context. Such is the case of the word leavin in the Old Testament, and especially in this text. At times, and often, leavin has the connotation of impure, especially in exodus or Leviticus, the connotation...

...of impure or sin, or a typology of sin or something that's impure, a symbol of sin. This appears to be its connotation in verse twelve, where we see that they're to offer up an offering without leavin. However, that can't be its meaning. In verse thirteen, that we're to offer up an offering with leavin. Very interesting texts were in today. In verse thirteen, leaven is to be included. Leavin or used. Is it bad? In fact, as part of God's original creation, these micro organisms were good. However, since in some cases it came to symbolize sin or impurity,...

God disallowed its use in seeing offuls. And so if you went to offer up a sin offering to God, since leavin in some cases symbolize the ER impurity, you couldn't have any in your offering. You're offering had to be pure, wholesome, perfect, blameless. It had to be a offering on behalf or four sin, and no sin symbolically could be in it. However, we have a unique offering here, which was also described in chapter three of Leviticus. It's a fellowship offering. Leavin didn't always symbolize the in. Sometimes it symbolize complacency or taking your tie, resting, maybe even thus when...

...they prepared the pass over meal, there was to be no leven in that it didn't symbolize seein in the past over meal you just couldn't have any eleven because that symbolized just kind of resting or complacent and you couldn't be. You hat to be ready to go at a moment's notice. So sometimes it symbolize the in other times that symbolize complacency or rest something of that nature. Here is a fellowship offering. This is the only offering where an individual usual could partake of it with God. All the other offerings that the Israelites would bring in the sacrificial system, the whole bird offering, all to God, some...

...of the seein offering, some of the guilt offerings, some of that would be to God, but the high priest could have some of it and the preachingly family could have some of it, but the offerer could have none. This was the only offering which the offer could protect some of it, some of it went to God, and some of it the offerer could pertain. No wonder. I like calling it the fellowship offering. It was an offering of fellowship between the individual and God. And so here we have this offering, and in one part of this offering there was to be no leaving this offering. That was to be given to God. No leaven was to be in that. That that was God's, no sin, blameless, perfect given to God. However, in the very next births leavin was to be in.

Thus this fellowship was to be pure, verse to wealth, and yet relaxing, verse thirteen. That's the way our fellowship with God should be. What a beautiful picture. We are made right with God and thus have a relationship of purity now with God and a fellowship that we should enjoy. We should just relax and enjoy that relationship with God. You couldn't have this fellowship offering before the burnt offering. You had to have the burn offering first. You had to get the sin out of your life first, and then that...

...burnt offering, which would bring about that relationship with God. You could then offer up a thank offering to God for that, Lord. Thank you. But then you could offer up this fellowship offering where the person could fellowship with God, offering part of it to God, pure holy and offering part of it to themselves, where they would just relax and enjoy the very presence of God. What a beautiful, beautiful picture. Levin was allowed in this offering to convey to Israel that by the shed blood of the innocent they have been brought into a relationship with God. So now they could be in a relaxed state enjoying fellowship with him. Can I encourage you this week take some time...

...to stop, get your Bible out and put your watch away, get your Bible in, your prayer journal out and turn the clock off and rest, relax, enjoy God, just enjoy him at some point this week, maybe this evening. Can I encourage it just to have a date with God, just to take some time and take your Bible, Take Your Prayer Journal, get rid of the launch, stop the hustle and bustle of life, just relax with your Creator, just enjoying him. That's why died. He died to have that relationship with you. Won't you enjoy this week well, I...

...hope you will. Our Reading For tomorrow is going to be Leviticus, chapter eight through ten, so we're making our way through Leviticus. I sure hope you're enjoying this study as we learn more about God through these books in the Old Testament. I want to pray with you before we close today. Father, thank you for this amazing passage. Very interesting where in one verse you command us not to have leavin in this offering, but in the very next verse there is Leaven, a reminder that our lives sort to be pure and holy, unto you, and yet where to relax and enjoy. May We do so this very it's for Your glory and honor. Would break Jesus name. Amen. Thank you for joining us today.
