Surrender to victory, surrender to win. Those two statements, surrender and victory, are opposed to each other. There the epitome of irony. Talk about paradox. In a battle, how can surrender be a win? How can surrender...

...bring victory? Obviously, in the realm of the flesh it cannot. Simply put. In a material world, to surrender is to lose. However, in God's economy, in the realm of the spiritual, in the realm of God, surrender to God always brings victory. When we surrender to God, we went as we will see throughout the devotion this year. Scripture is full of paradox and here is one. We must surrender in order to win. We must surrender in order to gain victory. Jacob would come to understand this in his life. We're continuing looking at Jacob and today will be in Genesis, chapter thirty five, versus nine through twelve. You might want to turn there as we study. We were reading. Our daily reading was genesis thirty...

...three through thirty six, and we see that Jacob met Esaul and there was a blessing between the two of them and God just blessed that meeting. There we see that Dinah was raped, one of Jacob's daughters, and simion and Levi, the brothers to Dinah, actually murdered an entire village because of that and we'll see that God would ultimately bring consequences for that. But then today and the text, we see that God blesses Jacob as he returns to Bethel. Bethel meaning is the House of God. That was the first place that Jacob Experience God. That was where Jacob had the dream from God of the angels and the Stairway to heaven going up and down. That's BETHEL. Jacob's back at Bethel now and we're going to see here at Bethel that God blesses...

Jacob. In fact, in Chapter Thirty Five, Verses Nine through twelve, and God appeared unto Jacob Again when he came out of Padan Aram and blessed it, and God said to him, Thy name is Jacob. Thy Name shall not be called Jacob any more, but Israel shall be thy name. And called his name Israel, and God said to him, I am God Almighty, be fruitful and multiplied. A Nation and a company of Nations shall be of thee and kings shall come out of thy Loins. The land which I gave Abraham and Isaac to thee I will bless it, and to thy seed. After thee I will give the least verse elevene says, and Kings shall come out of thy Loins. The word loins here is a Hebrew term pronounced called lofts. It literally means the seat of strength. Thus King James...

Translated Loins. Other translators so as not to lose the impetus of the blessing. Simply stay, kings shall come from you. However, I do not believe it is coincidental that the very area that God touched, that Hiploin area, is the same area which would be used to produce kings. Without making too much of an inference, it is still worth noting the common physical location of the touch of God and the blessing of God. It is certainly biblical and theologically accurate to maintain that the areas our lives which are most touched by God are the areas most blessed and used by God, and the areas which...

...are most touched by God are the areas which we surrender to God. Thus, the area is most surrendered are the areas most blessed. Certainly, surrender hurts, surrender is painful, but the blessings are far greater. To give up, to surrender one's pride, to surrender one's position, to surrender one's life. That's painful, that's hard, going down life doing what we want to do, and then God says I want you to give that up and we're like, Whoa, that's hard, that's difficult. Yes, surrender is painful, but that pain is not worthy to be compared to the blessings in our lives that God wants to bring. And so the burning question for us...

...today is which areas of my life are not fully surrendered to God? Is My love life fully surrendered to God? Is My job? Is it fully surrendered to God? How about my home? Are Our homes fully surrendered to God? How about our future? Is your future fully surrendered to God or do you have your own dreams? Do you have what you want to do? You say, all right, God, you can have my life, you can have my home, you can have my family, but leave my dreams alone. I'm not giving you my dreams. These are my dreams. I've had these dreams of what I want to be and what I want to do since I was six, seven, eight, ten, twelve years old. God, leave my dreams alone. Or are willing to surrender that future?...

It's painful. Is My health fully surrendered to God? Are Are you and I still clinging to some of those areas, refusing to surrender all of our life to God for fear of losing it? If I surrender, I'll lose. If I give up my future, I'll lose my dreams, my future. If I give up my home, I'll lose. If I give up you put it in there, your job, whatever your desires, if you give that up, there's this fear that in giving it up, you'll lose. But Jacob found that is he surrendered to God. As he surrendered that life to God, God touched team and blessed me. When you surrender...

...those areas of life, those areas that are most surrendered to God, are the areas most used by God, because they are the areas most touched by God. Don't ever forget that if you and I refuse to surrender some point, will lose it anyway. Speaking of paradox and other paradoxes, is he who seeks to save his life shall lose it, but he who loses his life for my sake, that same shall save it. If you hold on to that dream, that life, don't surrender to God, you're going to lose it anyway. You might as well surrender to God and in so doing, allow God to touch that area of your life and bless that area of your life. The only path to victory in God's economy, the only path...

...to blessings, is surrender. The follow up question, of which the answer is obvious, is do I want God to bless every area of my life? Yes, which means I must surrender every area of my life so that God can touch every area of my life, so that God can bless every area of my life. And the third and final question, which is not so easily answered, am I willing to surrender all areas of life. What you think about that for a moment? Are you willing to surrender all areas of your life to God? You willing to give up to that anger you've been holding on to? You willing to give up that lack of forgiveness you've been holding on to? You're willing to give up those dreams? Are you...

...willing to surrender all areas of your life, your name, your pride, everything, God, it's yours. Take it all. I trust it in your hands and if you're willing to do that, as painful as it is, God will take it and he'll touch your life and he'll bless you. What a wonderful lesson here from the pages of scripture are reading, for tomorrow is going to be Genesis, chapter thirty seven through thirty nine, but I want to pray for you again before we go today. Father, thank you for this wonderful testimony from the life of Jacob. That the area that you touched, that loin hip area, was the exact area you use to produce kings. A reminder to us that the areas that you touch in our lives are the ones that you use, and the areas that you touch or the...

...ones help us always to survive. In Jesus name, we thank you again for joining us today.
