...a lesson through the word of God and the life of Sarah that would cause us to step back and say, wow, God's amazing. Well, we're going to be in genesis chapter eighteen. Are Reading for the day was Genesis Sixteen through nineteen. We're in chapter eighteen and I'm wonder began reading in verse nine and we'll go through fifteen. And then they said to him, we're at Sarah, you your wife, and he said they're in the tent. Now in this passage we have God and two angels with him, a Pre incarnate Christ, if you will, who have come and visited with April, and they're coming and visiting with him and they say where is Sarah. He said they're in to ten. He said, I will surely return to you at this time. This is God speaking. Next year and Bey Old Sarah, your wife will have a son. Sarah was listening at the tenth door,...

...which was behind me. When are now, Abraham and Sarah were very old, advanced in age. In fact, Sarah was well passed. Shall Bear and Sarah laughed to herself, saying, after I have become old, shall I have pleasure with my husband, my Lord also, since he's old, speaking of her husband, but God said to Abril. Why did Sarah Laugh, saying shall I indeed bear a child when I'm so old? Is Anything too difficult for God? At the appointed time, I will return to you at this next time, at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son. Sarah denied it, saying I did not laugh, for...

...she was afraid. The Lord said no, you did laugh. We asked ourselves, does God really want to bless us? Many of us in this life and the experienced disappointment after disappointment after disappointment, and we narre dare not get our hopes up, because if we do hope again that God might bless us, will be disappointed again. We dare not believe that God has something good awaiting us. We can bear to hope again because will be disappointed again. We've accepted that we're just not going to be blessed like others are going to be blessed. We've accepted that God just doesn't favor us the way he favors others. Perhaps we think it is because of something within us, even...

...why would God want to bless someone like me? Perhaps we've just had a life full of disappointment, decades and years of disappointment. Could it be that God really wants to bless our lives? And the reading today, we saw that Sarah was infer and further she was well passed menopause. It was not even physically impossible for her to get pregnant. But the text implies, when she says that she couldn't have a pleasure, that her in the age patriarch Abraham, hadn't had sexual relations in years. However, Sarah's doubt as its basis not so much in the impossibility of the situation. Sarah's doubt has its faces, and the many times she's been disappointed before, how many times she...

...must have fall maybe this time will have a baby. Maybe this time God will bless us. Year after year, after interactions with her husband time and time again, and yet they never have a baby, only to be disappointed. Decades of try filled with disappointment, decades of hearing their neighbor, their friends, their family members, they have chilledn we never have decades that. Would God really be this good to her? She doubted his goodness more than she doubted his ability. And, by the way, to doubt God's goodness is see it. That's why God reprooved. That's why God says whole you have God. It was letting her know you shouldn't doubt God's goodness. In...

...fact, the Bible says it's impossible to please God without faith. Does God ask Abram? Is there anything that's too hard for God? Is there anything too difficult for God? That word difficult in the text here is a word which means extraordinary in the sense of wonder and amazement. Is there anything too extraordinary for God? Is there anything that God can't do extraordinarily in your life, amazing in your life? Is there anything God can't do? By the way, it's Syronic that Sarah actually confirmed God's word in her doubt, you say. Well, Astra, how did she do that? Well, it...

...says that after God said this, Sarah, verse thirteen, in the Lord said to Abraham. Well, Going Back Verse Twelve, Sarah laughed to herself. Let me but a Hebrew word in there for you. Sarah Isaac to herself. Isaac was the name of their child. That would people, and very clearly just the Lord. Isaac means laughter, and so by laughing she was confirming God's or how I ran to laugh Sarah Isaac and in so doing confirmed confirmed God's word. And then she pronounces her son's name. I did not Isaac, again confirming God's word. But then God says, Oh,...

...yes, you did, Isaac, having the final say, I will give you a child. His name will be ice. I've said. Whether you believe it or not, my word stands. I've said it. It will happen. What a great God, what a good God. The next time you wonder if God wants to bless you, ask God to forgive. Just say God, forgive me for even wondering that. You're a good God. God wants to do amazing things, astonishing things, in your life. So lessing we have from the text today be amazed that what God has done in your life and be amazed at what God wants to do. You say. Well, pastor what about all those discippointments? Sarah understood eighty nine years old,...

...life filled with this life wasn't all? God had something special, plan and astonishing thing that he was still going to do in her life. Don't you doubt God? He's a good God and he wants to do something astonishing in your life. What an incredible lesson we have in our text today. Well, tomorrow we'll be reading genesis twenty through twenty two. I invite you, as we continue to make our way through, to enjoy that passage. Is We talk about what God's going to do there with Abril and this son. He had said, let me pray for father. We thank you so much. You want to do something amazing in our is God forgive for what? I doubt? For Give us all. We believe because you've said where...

...your children and you want to bless us. Thank you, Jesus man, Amen.
